GM and Ford outweigh sales estimates

General Motors and Ford, the two largest automakers of the United States, had in January sales above expectations, benefited by a great demand for cars, crossovers and trucks.
GM predicted that sales annualized basis in January the entire automotive industry would total 15.3 million vehicles, while Ford said it would be on the average estimate of 15 million, in line with the foreseen by analysts at 15.2 million survey by Thomson Reuters.
GM, the largest automaker in the United States, was discharged from 16% in January, sales benefited by the Chevrolet Equinox midsize crossover. Ford, the second largest manufacturer in the country, had 22% jump, helped by template Fusion.
Chrysler, in which Fiat has a controlling stake, had growth of 16% in the January sales, to 117,731 units. This is the best result since 2008, but slightly below the predictions of many analysts. The automotive market must remain the major growth started at the end of last year.
