Price of potato sack has a drop of more than 30% in the month of July in MT

In the wholesale sector, the average price of the potato sack, with 50 kilos, presented a decrease of 32%, this month, according to a survey of the State Secretariat of Family Farming (Seaf), released on Wednesday (31). At the beginning of the month, the average value for wholesale was R $190. Currently, the sack is being commercialized by R $130. These values are based on the prices practiced at the Cuiabá Supply Center. According to the agronomist Luiz Henrique Carvalho, the fall is caused by the great offer of the product. In this period of drought, production tends to be higher. In the retail case, the average value of the potato kilo is R $3.50, in supermarkets. Already at the Port fair, the average price is R $5. Still in the wholesale, jiló, cucumber and smelling pepper also presented a drop in prices. In the case of the chilli pepper, the reduction was 31%. The price of the Jiló was reduced by about 30% and is being commercialized to R $35. The cucumber went into the process of ' Safrinha ', which caused a greater supply of the product and reduction in prices. In seven days, the value ranged between R $55 and R $40.
