São Paulo — the Brazilian health operator NotreDame Intermédica is in conversations for eight potential acquisitions, with three of them already in due diligence, according to a source familiar with the subject.
NotreDame Intermédica has already signed a non-disclosure agreement for the eight possible purchases, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the information is not public. Last week, the company reported that it signed an agreement to buy the Ghelfond group for R $240 million. Still this year, the company had already announced the purchase of the AMIU Hospital and the operator Belo Dente.
Intermédica did not want to comment, citing a period of silence before the disclosure of results.
The Intermédica, which was acquired by Bain Capital in 2014, has 21 hospitals, 75 clinical centers and 20,000 employees. Since its initial public offering, in April 2018, the operator's shares accumulate 165%, against a 19% gain for the IBOVESPA in the same period. Bain Capital has been reducing its share in the company, but is still the main shareholder.
