MEIs lead Industrial sector in the country

The individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs) represent 59% of the Brazilian industries. According to data from the Empresometer, specializing in market intelligence, the sector is responsible for moving more than R $1.3 trillion per year. In the segment, the country has approximately 782,700 individual microentrepreneurs, 504,600 small companies, 23800 with medium size, 7900 considered large and 446 microenterprises. According to the survey, the state of São Paulo concentrates 25.96% of the total of 1.3 million active industries in the country, with 341,000 businesses, followed by Minas Gerais, with 161,000, and Rio de Janeiro, with 118,000.
