Cloud computing pulls SAP growth in Brazil in 2nd quarter

São Paulo – The German SAP, known for its financial management systems, advanced in the cloud computing segment during the second quarter of 2019. According to the company, the segment that grew more than 100% was the customer experience management, called the Customer Experience (CX). The technology giant also signed new contracts, such as one with Gerdau, which was already a customer of other SAP products. The largest Brazilian steel producer began to use its human resources management tool called SuccessFactors, based on the cloud. It allows to manage employees by competencies and aims to give greater agility in managing employees. The same platform was also adopted in the last trimester by the Syrian-Lebanese hospital. In an interview with EXAME, Cristina Palmaka, president of SAP in Brazil, says that the hospital may be more efficient in the management of data and processes. "The Syrian-Lebanese will use both our people management application and our finance solution. With the management of the staff and their medical skills, the hospital can quickly find the most qualified people for each case. In the procurement sector, they will have tools to buy at the best prices and control inventory, all on a single platform and without duplication of data, "said Palmaka. In the health sector, the company also serves Dasa, Albert Einstein Hospital and Fleury. The country's third-largest fast-Food Network, Burger King, also became part of the SAP customer portfolio in the quarter. She has adopted customer experience management solutions, procurement management and the HR tool. "We analyzed all of their ecommerce part, especially about data privacy. This is an important and necessary issue because of the European Union's Personal Data Protection Act. We start with this project and expand to the management of outsourced employees. In the end, the company ended up adopting most of our solutions, "Palmaka said. The SAP Customer management tool has been reinforced with a solution from a company called Qualtrics, which analyzes experience from the customer's point of view, brand, product and collaborator. Announced at the end of 2018, the acquisition of $8 billion was the second largest in SAP's history. Other companies that now use solutions from the German company are James Delivery, the Pão de Açúcar group, Drogaria Araújo and the Boticário group. Globally, SAP rivals companies such as Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce, which also operate in the Brazilian market.
