The stability in stocks signals that sales are below the expected and that there was a pause in the replacement of the products due to the fall of the confidence indicators, analyzes the economic advisory of the entity. In May, 60% of entrepreneurs considered that their stocks are "adequate", a proportion similar to the historical average pre-crisis. Other 27.5% said they had excess merchandise and 11.6%, low stocks. The indicators were stable in comparison with April, when 27.3% said they had excess merchandise and 11.7% declared a lack of products. The inventory index is calculated monthly by FecomercioSP based on the perception of retail about the volume of goods stocked in stores. The indicator can range from zero, with total inadequacy, to 200, signaling total adequacy of stocks. Indices above 100 are considered adequate.
