Trade expects higher high in sales of children's Day in 6 years

Trade is optimistic about this year's children's Day sales. According to the National Confederation of the sector, sales should grow 4.4% compared to 2018 – the best result in six years. The date, which should move R $7.8 billion, is the third most important for trade, just behind Christmas and Mother's Day. The best performance should come from toys and electronics, with expected high of 8.2%. For clothing and footwear, the expectation is growth of 4.5% in sales, followed by products purchased in supermarkets and hypermarkets (3.5%). At the other end, the scenario is bad for bookstores and Stationeries, where sales should be 4.1% smaller this year. Regionally, São Paulo (R $2.2 billion), Minas Gerais (R $772 million), Rio de Janeiro (R $712 million) and Rio Grande do Sul (R $611 million) should answer for more than half (55%) of the busy total. Prices The National Confederation of Trade (CNC) also assessed the prices of some of the most common gifts on this date. Of the eleven items evaluated, five are cheaper than a year ago.
