Danone reinforces prediction for 2018 after high sales for the quarter

French Danone's sales totaled 6.1 billion euros in the first quarter of 2018, an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year. With the result, the company reaffirmed its financial projections for the current calendar. Danone attributed the good results obtained in the first three months of the year the performance of specialized nutrition and water divisions. The area of specialized nutrition, which produces food for people with dietary restrictions, recorded an increase of 14.5% in sales to 1.8 billion euros, with the marketing of products for newborns. The water Division had revenues of EUR 976 million, rising to 4%, with sales advancing in all regions in which it operates. For the cumulative 2018, Danone kept expecting to get double-digit growth of recurring profit per share, considering a constant exchange rate and excludes the effects of the sale of the participation in the Japanese capital, held Yakult in the beginning of the year.
