Air France launches low-cost airline

Air France officially launched on Monday the "Joon", your new low-cost airline, aiming to attract a younger clientele and recover the profitability of some routes. The company reported that Joon will begin flying to six destinations. From December 1, the company will have flights to four cities: Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon and Porto. Joon will fly to Fortaleza, in Brazil, too, and to Seychelles from the end of March next year.
Individual fares to European cities should from €39, and to Brazil and Seychelles shall vary between €249 and €299.
Joon will hire 1,000 people to compose your crew until 2020, according to the ceo of Air France, Franck Terner. He reported that the airline will initially use the A340 aircraft, Airbus, on long distance routes, and changes to the latest A350 from 2019.
Joon, who has the generation dubbed the '' Millennials '' targets, will be led by Jean-Michel Mathieu, who was involved in the project from the beginning and already assumed multiple positions within the Group Air France-KLM.
Air France wants to reduce costs to compete better with other Gulf airlines on long-haul routes and with low-cost airlines on shorter routes.
Other groups that are investing in low-cost offerings are IAG, owner of the British Airways, German Lufthansa, Eurowings and the Canadian WestJet. Meanwhile, Ryanair passengers in contention stressed.
In July, Air France-KLM has expressed optimism in relation to the rates for the remainder of the year, after good demand for trips result in better-than-expected profit in the second quarter.
