Supermarket sales grow 4.58% in September, reports Open

SAO PAULO-Brazilian supermarket sales grew by 4.58 percent in September, in real terms, compared with the same month of the previous year, today released the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Open). With the result the sector accumulated high in year of 1.11%.
In comparison with the month of August, the advance was of 3.1% in real terms (discounted the effects of inflation for the period). In nominal values, the supermarket sector revenue advanced 7.25%, compared to September 2016, and 3.26%, in comparison with the previous month.
For the year to date, the President of the entity, João Sanzovo Neto, said that the forecast growth of 1.5% is kept for now. The Executive says that open analyzes if should reduce the estimate of 1.3% due to expansion of food deflation, which has undermined the results of companies.
The Association released a study still about estimates for Christmas sales. According to the survey, the billing date should be practically stable this year, with a real high of 0.27%.
