Building materials sales grow 7%

São Paulo-retail sales of construction materials grew 7% in September, compared with the same month of 2016. As a result, the sector has accumulated a growth of 4.5% in the year and 1% in the past twelve months.
The data were released yesterday (3) by the National Association of traders of construction materials (Anamaco). In comparison with August this year, according to the survey, the index remained stable.
The result of the month was driven, according to the President of the entity, Claudius Conz, for sales of paints and ceramic tiles. "There has been a significant increase in sales [these products], which indicates that the brazilian family is already starting the reforms of their homes to the end of the year," says Conz.
The Outlook for the coming months of the year is that the scenario of sales expansion continue. According to the Anamaco study, 70% of respondents believe that retailers have 530 an increase in sales volume of predominantly 10% in October. "The second half of the year is always more positive for our industry," says the President of the entity. Sales from July to December, represent, in General, 65% of the total annual turnover of the industry.
For the year, the forecast is that the retail Association of construction material close with a growth of approximately 5%, the result of last year.
Two aspects that should influence the growth of the business this year is the Ordinance that regulates Pension card, signed in September, and the Construcard, a line of credit offered by Caixa Economica and is in testing phase.
The study of Anamaco also a growing optimism of retailers. The majority of respondents in the South, Southeast and Midwest plan to make new investments. Already the intention of hiring in October increased in the South, but flinched in the North. About the optimism with respect to the actions of the Government in the next 12 months, the index has increased from 32% to 36%.
