Petrobras announces sale of pipelines to Brookfield

São Paulo-Petrobras concluded the negotiations to sell the unit to New gas pipelines Southeast Carrier (NTS) to a consortium led by Canadian Brookfield, reported the State-in fact the market on Thursday, without revealing details of the business immediately.
On Tuesday, Reuters reported that Petrobras had closed deal to sell 90% of his participation in the NTS to a group of investors led by Brookfield Asset Management, for 5.2 billion dollars, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter.
"After met the steps provided for in the process of disinvestment of Petrobras, the final terms and conditions of the transaction will be submitted for deliberation of the statutory bodies of the company and, if approved, shall be timely disclosed to the market," just tell the State.
According to the Reuters report, the Group of investors includes the Pension Fund of British Columbia, Canada, and sovereign wealth funds CIC (China) and GIC (Singapore).
The source added that an agreement for the sale of the NTS will be submitted to the Board of Directors of Petrobras, and the closing of the deal is expected for the end of September.
If confirmed the value of the deal, the agreement should be the largest disinvestment so far within the Petrobras plan to sell about of 15 billion dollars in assets in 2015 and 2016.
