Carrefour install recycling machines in eight of its stores

The network of hypermarkets Carrefour ended at the end of last month the installation of recycling machines in eight of its units, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo (SP). The idea is to allow customers to deposit used packaging locations, receiving in Exchange for discounts on your purchases.
The first network partner in the project is Unilever, which shall provide, for each empty deodorant deposited, a 30% discount coupon for the purchase of a new unit of a deodorant Rexona or Dove.
In the future, the initiative could be extended to other regions and other types of packaging. "We believe that this program has a great potential for engagement by the consumer, since we had a practical environmental and financial benefits of recycling", says the company''s sustainability Director, Paul Pianez.
The initiative is part of the Carrefour re-cycle, which encourages consumers to change their buying habits and recycling your trash in a smart way.
