Allies of the market of yoghurts, stamps and aluminum covers favor security and technological innovations

Aluminum is present in the yogurt market, whose Greek and liquid segments recorded an increase of 3.7% consumption and 2.7%, respectively, according to data from Kantar Worldpanel: consumer of 2015, due to the properties of the stamps and covers are produced with metal, which act as protectors of dairy drinks and favor the development of new technologies.
For packaging yoghurt pre-cut label of aluminum is the most indicated for stiffness, heat resistance, good thermal conduction, excellent print quality and good ductility, according to Pablo Sebrian, Executive P&D of packaging company Bemis.
Even the packaging of plastic, aluminum is a differential for the safety and preservation of food. "Because in some cases, depending on the need of product barrier – moisture, oxygen, light, aluminum becomes an essential raw material, for being considered the substrate that provides better barrier," explains Sebrian.
In addition to security and convenience, versatility of aluminum helps launch of innovations like the cover design adopted by Japanese dairy producers. The technology developed by Toyo Aluminium avoids the waste of yogurt because it prevents the drink stay adhered to the cover.
The lid non-stick aluminium, Lotus Toyal, was inspired by the structure of the Lotus leaf, which repels rainwater. According to the researchers, the Lotus, the angle of contact between the sheet and the edge of the drop of water is about 150 degrees, which prevents water retention. From this discovery, the Japanese designed a cover surface with angle of 170 degrees.
