Cosan proforma net income of R$ records 327,500,000 in Q3

The pro forma net profit of registered Cosan R$ 327,500,000 in the third quarter of 2016, reversing the damage of R$ for the same period 17,200,000 of 2015. In the second quarter, there was a growth of 16.3% in the result. In nine months, the company accumulated profit of R$ 857,800,000.
The adjusted profit stood at 189,400,000, compared with R$ prejudice of 31,300,000 R$ in the third quarter of last year, and R$ 165 million in the second quarter, representing an increase of 14.8% in three months.
The Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) totaled R$ 1.420 billion pro forma between July and September, compared with R$ 972,600,000 a year earlier, an increase of 46%. On a quarterly comparison, the Ebitda rose by 13.6%.
The adjusted Ebitda stood at 1.193 billion R$ in the third quarter, evolution of 10.8% over the same period to 2015. On a quarterly comparison, the growth of 24.5%.
Cosan''s net revenue reached R$ 11.748 billion between July and September, 2.1% over the same period last year, and 2.9% in three months.
The capex was in R$ 392,300,000 in the third quarter, up from R$ 405,300,000 in 2015, down 3.2%. Free cash generation of Cosan between July and September was 908,100,000, compared with R$ negative result of R$ 134,800,000 in the third quarter of last year.
Cosan''s net debt fell 3.4% in 12 months, to R$ 11.198 billion. Leverage, as measured by net debt/Ebitda, fell from 3.2 to 1.9 times time between September 2015 and September this year.
Guidance
Cosan also updated the projection for its Ebitda in the year 2016. The previous guidance was a range between 4.25 billion R$ and 4.8 billion R$, and passed to a range between 4.7 and 5.1 R$ billion R$ billion.
This review reflects some changes in projections for some subsidiaries, with emphasis on expected Ebitda for Comgás, between R$ 1.9 billion and $2 billion, up from the previously projected range between 1.4 billion and R$ R$ 1.6 billion. Already the guidance for the Raízen Energy''s Ebitda fell from a range between 3.3 billion and R$ R$ 3.6 billion to r $3 billion to 3.3 billion R$.
Cosan is a business conglomerate with activities in the fields of energy, logistics, infrastructure and management of agricultural properties. Specifically to the area of sugarcane, Raízen energy, a joint venture with Shell, operates 23 power plants, with an installed capacity to grind more than 60 million tonnes per year.
