Electronics has fall in Mines

Although still be closing the final figures, the Associação Brasileira da Indústria regional electrical and electronics (Abinee) in the State estimates that the sector closed the first quarter with drop in production around 5% compared to the same period in 2014. "And the prospects are not encouraging," warns the Director of entity in Mines, Alexander the great d ' Assunção Freitas.
Moreover, according to him, the electrical and electronics industry of Mines was struggling to maintain employment levels in an attempt to hold on to skilled labor, which is abundant in the article but failed to stave off layoffs. "There was and there is loss loss of jobs," he says, without estimating numbers.
The regional director of Abinee explained that the electrical and electronics industry is composed of multiple segments-such as generation, transmission and distribution of energy, telecommunications, industrial automation, electronics and Informatics-and that each sector is reacting differently before the slowdown of the economy,
"The cellular segment and tablets is the least is suffering economic situation's impact, but the generation, transmission and distribution of energy is one of the hardest hit. This thread has dropped close to 7% of revenue in the first quarter of this year and there are also job loss, "he says.
Freitas stressed that some measures adopted by the federal Government have damaged even more the sector. One was the reduction of the benefit on the exemption of payroll, which should have an impact in at least half of the products manufactured by the segment. According to him, items that are taxed with 1% of social security contribution must go to 2.5%, and those who are with 2% to 4.5%.
Reintegrates-another measure that could harm the electronics industry to reduce the percentage of tax reimbursement of special arrangements for re-integration of Tax Values for exporting companies (Returned) of 3% to 1%. As the Director of Abinee this can discourage exports at a time when they could be benefited because of the appreciation of the dollar against the real.
"The Government announced these benefits at the end of last year, but passed the elections is now back. These changes in government policy do not give security to entrepreneurs they invest, "said Freitas.
The Exchange factor can also be decisive for the sector this year. The American currency appreciation may favor the consumer electronics industries that export, but, at the other end, making the costs to those who import components and assemble products manufactured within the country.
"The appreciation of the dollar benefits companies working with exports, but hinder anyone working with imports. Therefore, exporters are seeing a horizon more positive if the shifter to keep it that way. We only able to measure the real effect of this change in three or four months, "he explains.
In the accounts of Abinee, all segments that make up the electrical and electronics industry the State generate of 12 thousand to 15 thousand direct jobs. Altogether, it is estimated that there are approximately 200 companies in the sector. Mines represents between 7% and 8% of the entire national park.
