CREDIT CARDS INCREASE PARTICIPATION IN CONSUMPTION

The payment of purchases via credit cards is already responsible for the financing of 50% of the consumption of goods and services in Brazil. In the first half, the installment credit volume contracted amounted to r $ 170,3 billion against a total of R $ 339,6 billion. Purchase arrangements classroom, with an emphasis on e-commerce, also brought an important breakthrough for the industry, according to the Brazilian Association of credit card companies and services (Abecs). The growth in the period was influenced by the stability of the number of jobs and income, in addition to the continued migration of means of payment. "Financial inclusion of low-income classes was reflected in greater credit card use and, consequently, in the fall of the average ticket," explains Marcelo Noronha, President of Abecs.
