TVs for sale increases by 60% with World Cup

The proximity with the World Cup boosted demand for televisions. Sales recorded a weekly growth above 60% in the second fortnight of may of 2014, compared to the same period last year, according to a survey from GFK. The national preference are devices with larger screens and cheaper technology. Devices having more than 50 inches represent 64.5% of total purchased and added LCD 35.5%. Demand was also high in the five European countries with important selections in football championship: Spain, Italy, England, Germany and France.
