Confidence of entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized businesses back to fall

The optimism of entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil fell for the fifth consecutive quarter, according to a survey from the Center for research in strategy of Insper.
The index calculated by the institution (IC-PMN), with support from Santander, shows that for the third quarter, the expectation of entrepreneurs fell 3.9% in comparison with the period between April and June, for 63.3 points.
Second Insper, retraction of the General index was pulled by the worsening of mood of small and medium entrepreneurs in relation to prospects for economic growth, which fell from 59.4 points in the second quarter to 55.7 points in the third quarter, a decrease of 6.2%.
In the Midwest, where agribusiness pulls the enterprise results, was registered only with high confidence, with high of 5.3%. With entrepreneurs more confident, IC-PMN in the Midwest increased from 62.7 points in the second quarter to 66.0 points in the third quarter.
The indices calculated with entrepreneurs of South, Southeast and Northeast showed falls, respectively, of 7.2%, 4.7% and 2.4% for the third quarter compared to the second quarter. In the southern region, IC-PMN had 66.9 points to retraction 62.2 points; in the Southeast, from 65.1 to 62.1; and in the northeast of 66.3 to 64.7. In the northern region, the index remained unchanged, at 69.9 points.
Small and medium-sized Brazilian entrepreneurs trade sector recorded the biggest fall in confidence in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, with a decline of 4.4% over the period of the IC-PMN, to 62.6 points. In the service sector, the decline in the index was 3.6%, to 62.4 points. In the industry, IC-PMN also fell, from 3.1% to 65.0 points.
In relation to expectations of increased profits, the index showed a decline of 3.7% for the third quarter compared to the second quarter, to 68.9 points. When the subject's intention to implement new investments, the fall in the index was 3.1%, to 61.6 points. In hiring new employees, the retraction in the period IC-pointed PMN was 3%, 57.7.
The entrepreneur confidence index of small and medium business in Brazil (IC-PMN) was obtained from telephone interviews with 1,326 entrepreneurs from across the country.
