Government defers tax readjustment to beer and water

BRASILIA-the Deputy Secretary of Receita Federal, Luiz Fernando Nunes, reported yesterday that the readjustment of the tax table for cold drinks (beers, sodas and waters) was postponed to the next year, by decision of the Minister of finance, Guido Mantega, which met last Friday with representatives of the sector in Sao Paulo.
The original forecast was that the change in the rates was made in October of this year. "The Minister Mantega announced in Sao Paulo that this change will be made only next year," said Nunes. According to the Deputy Secretary of Federal revenue, has not yet set the date of the adjustment.
