Klabin expands production capacity in Pernambuco

Klabin, largest producer of packaging papers, industrial bags and corrugated packaging of Brazil, inaugurated this week the expansion of its plant in Goiana (PE), 70 km from Recife. The total investment of more than 400 million dollars is part of Klabin's growth project.
In the city since 1973, Klabin is the expansion to keep up with demand of customers in the region, which showed significant growth in all business areas of the company. "The Northeast market has been following the development of consumption in sectors such as processed foods, fruit-growing and construction, for example. This scenario of increased demand and the expansion of the economic importance of the Northeast resulted in this investment decision, we are sure, also will boost the region's economy ", affirms Paulo Petterle, COO of Klabin.

Terminating the current expansion cycle, in 2014 the Goiana Unit will become the largest corrugated plant of Latin America, with the installation of a new machine for the production of recycled paper.
