Competition with atacarejo damaged super and hypermarkets in 2015

With the advance of atacarejo, favored by the economic crisis, the super and hypermarkets formats recorded actual sales decline last year, according to the 45th annual SM research that analyzes the performance of the food retailing. The supermarkets did R$ 243.2 billion in 2015, representing 3.7% indentation, discounted the inflation average of 9.01%, calculated by the IPCA. Already the hyper fell 5.7% real, with gross revenue of 69.1 billion R$.
