Solar Energy in Pharmacy

The Extrafarma pharmacy chain began, in the first quarter of 2020, the operation of two biogas plants to serve its 85 stores in Maranhão and Pernambuco.
From 2021, two other solar power generation parks will serve about 200 units in Pará and Ceará. With these projects, the network estimates a savings of 15% in energy cost.
Extrafarma also invests in the replacement of lighting in stores and distribution centers for LEDs and in the automation of air conditioning for lower energy consumption. Currently, there are three distribution centers and 411 stores distributed in 11 states.
