Fluminense Expansion

Following its expansion plan in the State of Rio de Janeiro in 2020, Assaí Wholesaler, a wholesale network of self-service, inaugurates today, August 18, a store in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
"Santa Cruz was our first inauguration in Rio de Janeiro this year. We have two other works in progress. With the opening, we reached the mark of 20 stores in the state, which is already the second most important square for Assaí. In this unit alone we invested R$ 41 million and created more than 500 jobs, between direct and indirect", says Belmiro Gomes, president of Assaí Wholesaler.
Extra Vira Assaí
The point of sale is the 172nd of the network in Brazil, and will operate on Avenida Padre Guilherme Decaminda, nº 2385, where was an Extra hypermarket. The opening is part of the conversion project that GPA, controller of the Extra and Assaí brands, has carried out to transform hypermarket units into self-service wholesale operations.
The new store has a built area of 11,000 m², being 6,200 m² of sales hall, and has 32 checkouts, including exclusive boxes for companies and 1020 parking spaces. The unit offers more than 8,000 products.
