Scientists warn of possible wave of brain damage caused by Covid-19

A study conducted by University College London (UCL) in the United Kingdom observed 43 cases of patients with Covid-19 who had temporary brain dysfunctions, strokes, and nerve damage.
Thus, scientists warn of a possible wave of brain damage related to the Coronavirus Sars-Cov-2. They investigate the possibility that Covid-19 causes inflammation, psychosis and delusions.
According to the study published in the scientific journal Brain, nine patients with brain injury had a rare acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. This type of injury occurs, most often, in children after certain viral infections.
The study points out that there was an increase in the frequency of case records among adults, from one per month to one each week.
