Sector recovers

In May, the construction sector recorded an 8% growth in sales volume from industry to retail compared to the pre-pandemic period (February 2020), according to data from the company Juntos Somos Mais. The figures show a recovery in the sector, which in April fell by 13% on the same comparison basis. In the regional analysis, the Midwest stood out, with an advance of 14% in May, against a drop of 10% in April. The Southeast and South closed May with a rise of 9%, while in April the falls were 9% and 7%, respectively. The Northeast and North grew 4% and 1%, respectively, against negative variations of 28% and 33%.
