Sugarcane mills will donate alcohol to the manufacture of gel for the public health network

The association representing the industries of the sugarcane sector (Unica) said on Wednesday (18) that will donate alcohol for the manufacture of the product gel for asepsis of public health facilities. The action involves the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and the state health departments. Minister Tereza Cristina thanked the sector for the donation, which arrives at a time of high consumption of the product due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. "They are highly disinfectant products. An offer to meet the needs of the health sector in Brazil." For the donation to take place, the sector awaits the authorization of the ministry for the production of alcohol with these specifications by the plants, which is currently prohibited.
