Viracopos Airport records a drop in the number of imports and exports

The international airport of Viracopos, in Campinas (SP), recorded a drop in the number of imports and exports in the accumulated nine months of the year, compared with the same period last year. The data are from the concessionaire airports Brazil, which manages the structure. According to the balance sheet, from January to September of this year the airport cargo Terminal exported 47100 tons, while in the same period 2018 the movement out of Brazil was 84100 tons. The reduction was 27.1%. In the imports, the fall was 14.4%. In the nine months of 2019, Viracopos Airport received 86800 tons of cargo, against 136,200 from January to September of last year. According to data from the concessionaire airports Brazil, the consolidated value of the express remittances also fell 11.6% and went from 6000 to 4000 tonnes in one year. The concessionaire airports Brasil reported that the decrease in the volume of cargo is directly linked to the fall of the national and regional gross domestic product (GDP). Moreover, the reduction in the investment potential of the industries, which generated the largest number of demissions of the last seven years in August in the region of Campinas, also contributed to the change.
