A brazilian food engineer developed a package that decomposes in up to two months in the environment. Larissa Sandwich, of 25 years, shared in your profile on Instagram product results biodegradable, sustainable and edible, which is ideal for wrapping fresh fruit and other foods, exercising the same function of plastic. According to the Pro-that is newly formed in food engineering from Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB) and is in the process of scientific initiation – packaging is developed from corn starch, potato starch and Chitosan. It took about three years of study to get to the ideal composition of the material. The product has the thickness and strength of a plastic PVC film and, in addition to being edible, it breaks down easily.
