ACTEGA of Brazil invests in new factory

The company, Brazil's ACTEGA member of ALTANA, decides to invest in new plant for production of varnishes, printing inks, PVC compounds, adhesives and sealants for the packaging industry. Since the entry in Brazil in December 2014, ACTEGA plans to the unification of their plants located in Barueri and Guarulhos. The city of Araçariguama, known as Gate of the Interior, located in the State of São Paulo, was chosen to host the new plant in Brazil. Located on the highway Castello Branco, in the kilometer 53, the plant will feature manufacturing area of 12,000 m ², with scalability to 20,000 m ². Located 30 minutes from the city of São Paulo and with easy access to major highways of the State, ACTEGA will optimize the logistics, together with its customers, products that today are produced in two different locations. "We are pleased with the possibility of unifying two complementary operations and, currently, geographically far apart. With this Union, we will have the ability to provide better services to our customers and expand our business in Brazil and South America, "says Andrei Sotkeviciene, Manager of the company in Brazil. The new plant will follow the high quality standards related to safety and environment, focus of the operations of ALTANA. The company has invested in new equipment, from Switzerland and Germany, which already are installed directly in the new plant. "High-performance equipment will be installed for dispersion and grinding of printing inks, varnishes, UV and water-based, as well as waste collectors and other equipment in accordance with the security standards of the group," said Cláudio Rodrigues, the company's Manager in Brazil. The gradual change of operations will occur during the first half of 2019 and the company aims to start in final operations in Araçariguama in August 2019.
