Retail trade Grows 4.7% in August, says ICVA

Retail sales in Brazil advanced 4.7 percent in August compared to the same period last year, discounting inflation. The data are from the Index Expanded retail Cielo (ICVA) released last Monday (17) by Cielo. In nominal terms, the indicator registered growth of 7.8% compared to August of 2017. One of the reasons for the high, according to Cielo, was due to a Friday in the month, day of the week on retail sales, and a Tuesday unless day considered weaker for billing. According to the company, the highlight was for the clothing segment.
