Retail Sales Growing 0.8% in August

The volume of total retail sales grew by 0.8 percent in August this year, compared with the same period of 2017, according to SpendingPulse, the retail Indicator from Mastercard. The report also reveals that the average for the preceding three months totaled 1.2% growth. Five sectors had growth above the sales indicator: furniture and appliances, pharmaceutical articles, materials of construction, supermarket and personal and domestic articles. Have e-commerce sales recorded an increase of 17.4% in August, compared to the previous year. Regional growth Mastercard informs you that the Northeast and southern regions had above-average performance, with growth of 1.7% and 1.2%, respectively. Already the Southeast (-0.9%), North (-0.6%) and Midwest (-0.4%) were below the registered retail, compared with the same period of the previous year.
