Food prices rises more than 3% in June

The CPI (consumer price index) of Sao Paulo recorded high of 1.01% in June, well above the elevation of 0.19% seen in the previous month, as disclosed by the Fipe (Economic Research Institute Foundation). Food Group prices increased 3.14 percent in the period, with strong participation in the General index. It is worth remembering that in the month of may the readjustment of the food had been of only 0.62%. Transport prices also had a significant elevation of 1.01 percent in June, against 0.59 percent in May. The truckers ' strike, shortages of food and fuel, significantly influenced the result.
