Walmart acquires startup of VR

The technology incubator of Walmart, the Store on 8, yesterday announced the purchase of the startup of Virtual reality (VR) Spatialand. The goal is to use the company to build products for the shops and the site of the American retailer. The Spatialand, who worked with the Store in the 8:00 pm a project of virtual reality (VR) last year, is a software platform that helps to create VR experiences. The Director of the incubator of Walmart, Katie Finnegan, will take over as interim Executive Chairman of the new company of virtual reality. Already Kim Cooper, the Spatialand and consultant Jeremy Welt, the Store on 8, assume senior roles in the new company, according to statement released by the company. The financial terms of the agreement were not identified. The announcement comes at a time when retailers seek technological advances to improve the experience in the shops and in the online environment. In January, the e-commerce giant Amazon has released your food store without cash registers, Amazon Go, which relies on cameras and sensors to monitor the buyers to remove the prataleiras and what is returned to you.
