Merger of Suzano and Fibria receives the ANTAQ's authorization

Suzano Papel e Celulose has obtained approval by the National Agency of waterway transportation (Antaq) to merge with Fibria. The decision of the Director-General of the Agency was published on Wednesday, 14, in the Diário Oficial da União (GIVE). In a statement to the market, the company informs that the conclusion of the transaction is still subject to approval by the competition authority of Europe and that the two companies remain operating independently. On 1 November, the operation was formally approved by the Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade), without restrictions. As there was no questioning the decision resources, the operation is formally approved by the defence of competition in Brazil. The business has also obtained approval of the authorities of the United States, China and Turkey.
