SÃO PAULO-better than expected results of the first nine months of the year, the National Federation of distribution of motor vehicles (Fenabrave) revised upward its projections for the performance of the automotive market in 2017.
The forecast of growth of sales of passenger cars and light utility vehicles rose from 4.3% estimate announced in July to 9.9%, which, if confirmed, will mean a 2,180,000 market units.
The entity that represents the car dealerships began the year with a more modest estimate, predicting growth of only 2.4 percent.
Already in relation to sales of trucks and buses, the forecast was a fall of 10.2% for a slight growth of 0.13% in 2017. The expectation is that sales in the heavy vehicles segment to 64000 units.
