Government will require selling unlimited internet for operators

The federal Government will require the operators of broadband internet service without limitation. For that, will be a term of commitment which will be presented to companies.
Since February, after Vivo, a major broadband operators, report that would sell internet through packages with data traffic limits, as the mobile internet, a controversy took care of social networks. Users ask the internet continue unlimited.
Among the points of the term being prepared are the requirement of unlimited packages for sale; to guarantee that contracts with users will not be modified-the operator can not break existing contracts, only new accessions may have the limitation and the development of a tool that shows the user his consumption profile, the amount of data consumed during the month, and the proximity to the exhaustion of the plan.
These commitments do not prevent companies sell packages in the franchise model, as in mobile telephony, but requires an alternative "no limits" to the user.
The term should be ready this Wednesday (20), with companies requirements and recommendations to Anatel (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações), an agency that regulates the industry.
Sought, the Minister of communications, André Figueiredo, asserts that the Government entered the fight for the boundless internet continue and will require the signature of this companies term of commitment.
"We hope to close it for that next week, at the latest, in the first week of may," said the Minister.
The Minister ensures that companies and the FCC should follow the guidelines of the Ministry.
"We talked to the operator and she accepted the request to continue selling the unlimited plan. We will also guide the FCC on this issue. The Agency has the propensity to welcome these recommendations, "says Forbes.
The carrier didn''t want to quote the Minister''s name Alive.
Sought, the company guarantees do not change existing contracts unilaterally and that for the new contracts, with the franchise, before they are applied, the client will have tools to measure your monthly consumption and so find the plan most suited to your profile.
Finally, States that consumers will continue and may choose the unlimited plans.
Controversy
The controversy gained momentum on Monday, after John Rezende, President of Anatel, assert that the era of unlimited internet was over.
Before, on the same day, the FCC issued a restraining order requiring companies wishing to sell the plans with deductibles a communication plan for users to be alerted of changes and of the tools available for monitoring consumption.
Just 90 days after the adoption of the plan for Anatel is that companies will be able to apply the service suspension or reduction of connection speed when the data packet is over.
This was understood by the consumer defense entities such as creating a loophole for companies they could migrate to the franchise model.
"The era of unlimited internet isn''t over. This view does not exist, "says Forbes.
