Outsourcing of services is on the rise

The security services also grows following the evolution of the cloud. Since those more specific, provided also in cloud, even the most complete managed service model.
The PwC identified in research that 69% of companies use some type of security in the cloud. "The volume of alerts, or logs, generated is so large that the monitoring and cross-checking of information is too sophisticated for a company doesn''t" exemplifies the consulting partner, Edgar D''Andrea.
Symantec registers growth of managed services. "There is a movement to bring this service to cloud. The complexity requires qualified teams ", says Vladimir Amarante, Director for Latin America. Among other issues, the burden on companies that have invested in safety components, but do not have enough arms to operate them. Outsourcing also helps to do simulations and train the it staff and security.
In annual report on safety of the infrastructure, the Arbor Networks pointed out the evolution of cloud and attack the rise in managed services. Two years ago 19% of participants had observed attacks targeting its cloud-based services. Last year, there were 33%. In addition, with the lack of internal resources, half of the companies noted the hiring of an outside organization to incident response.
The proportion is 10% above the percentage related to service providers in general-among these, 74% reported having observed greater customer demand for managed services.
The Vice President of Tivit, Carlos Gazaffi, confirms the movement. Before the managed security service was in the crosshairs of sectors such as finance, retail and aviation, is now wanted for customers of various industries and users of cloud. The service also has evolved and left behind purely technological characteristics, based on equipment and security management solutions for perimeter. "Today''s concern with adequacy of policies, controls, interface with compliance areas, acculturation and training of users," he says.
In 2012, the Tivit launched its security operations center (SOC), to provide monitoring services, implementation, prevention and response to incidents. The unit now houses 10 petabytes of data protected by services and, last year, was enhanced with the creation of a team dedicated to processes, services and policies, named CIS (corporate information secutiry), to extend the offer of day-to-day technical management with consulting services.
In total, the managed services team takes up a hundred of 28 1000 employees of the Tivit and nine out of ten customers employ some kind of information security service. More specialized, Arcon has focus on managed security services and, from its SOCs, handles more than 2 billion events per day-every 24 hours records about of 1000 2.6 security advisories, with 1.8 1000 incidents detected each month.
Last year its turnover hit R$ 70 million thanks to the concern of companies with cyber security-the average growth over the past four years exceeded 40% annually, says Marcelo Barcellos CEO.
One of the customers of the Arcon, the Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJSP), invested in hiring a SOC to operate within the Court. The project involves monitoring structure and security management to identify security incidents and dedicated technicians. "The goal is to increase security, ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information, and streamline their treatment," says the Security Coordinator TJSP, Edivaldo Sartor.
In the first 60 days of deployment, results were recorded as the blocking of large volumes of virtual threats from email-about 90% of the total traffic and the 16% increase in productivity.
Another that offers broad portfolio for security is Embratel. This includes provided advisory services for diagnosis, recommendations of security policies and governance to solutions, from the most basic, such as antivirus, antispam and content filters, to solutions for peripheral protection and application attacks and data loss prevention (DLT), all offered as a service by means of the Security Operations Center (Snoc).
"The trend is that companies work to the culture of security, combined with analytical tools of prevention and detection to alert situations of risk in real time," says Executive Director Mario Rachid.
