McDonald's uses only free chickens eggs in the u.s.

São Paulo-McDonald's has news for those who care about the mistreatment of animals in the food industry. Fast food network today announced that it will use only "cage-free" eggs, i.e. produced by chickens that live not confined. For at least the next 10 years, 16 thousand restaurants located in the United States and network in Canada will use in their recipes only eggs from chickens that live "free" out of cages. According to the President of McDonald's USA, Mike Andres, the decision to use this kind of egg "reinforces the focus on food quality and network cardápido to please and surprise customer expectations". McDonald's says it buys, every year approximately 2 billion eggs in the United States and 120 million in Canada to offer the breakfast menu, called in Brazil of McCafé in the morning. Since 2011, however, the net purchase, annually, more than 13 million eggs of hens "free". Furthermore, in 2000, McDonald's became the first fast-food company to adopt a system of raising chickens that gave more room for the animals than the industry standard.
