Anfavea estimates increase in exports of vehicles in 2013

The National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) revised the estimate of exports of Brazilian vehicles in 2013, which was originally of up to 5% drop in business about 473.2 thousand vehicles of 2012. ' Not yet concluded the numbers, but after consulting our technical group I guarantee that performance not only ceased to be negative, as happened to be positive ', said President Luiz Moan, during the Congress ' auto industry 2014 Planning ', held in São Paulo, on Monday, 5.
According to Moan, the projection should be disclosed on Tuesday, 06, when the Anfavea exposes the monthly data. Moan pointed out that growth in exports estimated for 2013 is due to heating of the markets rather than productivity gains or even competitiveness after the recent high on the dollar in Brazil. ' The Exchange, although it is a stimulator to come out into the field to new sales, it is still very volatile and it is not possible to predict whether it will help exports, ' said.
For 2014, he said to expect the Export program, to encourage exports of vehicles, especially with the reduction of taxes for the production, to be deployed in the country. The goal of the Anfavea is to achieve, in 2017, 1 million vehicles exported annually. If the goal is met, exports should account for just under 20% of the installed capacity provided by automakers in the country to 2017.
With investments of r $ 71 billion, should reach 5.7 million units in four years, with a domestic market of 4.6 million vehicles, making it imperative that the export of 1 million units to avoid idleness in the industry. ' Need to not have idle capacity in the country and I am convinced that we will achieve the goal, said Moan.
Auto Parts. Moan also said that the strengthening of the auto parts industry is a priority agenda for the next year in the automotive industry. He says that there is no possibility of having a strong assembler sector in Brazil if there is strong manufacturing industry. One of the aspects for the next year, he said, will be the Innovate-parts, study of Government and the private sector to a package of incentives for auto parts companies.
' On Friday, 2, the Government signaled the possibility of creating seven or eight Apps (local productive arrangements) auto parts, one in each State vehicle producer, which is good news. It is good to remember that the Innovate-Auto will need $ 10 billion investment by automakers in research, development and engineering ', said Moan. The President of Anfavea stressed the need of encouraging production in the country of some key components to the compliance with the fuel economy targets provided for in Innovation.
