Cargill and USJ inaugurate second plant in Goiás

SAO PAULO-the American multinational Cargill and the Saint John Plant Group (USJ) inaugurate on Wednesday the second power plant of the joint venture they formed in 2011, the SJC Bioenergy, and ethanol investments in Goiás.
The unit, named Golden River power plant, was built in the municipality of Cachoeira Dourada (Goiás) after investments of r $ 500 million. The plant will have capacity to produce 220 million liters of ethanol per crop and 230 thousand megawatts per year (MW/year) of electricity from sugarcane bagasse — being that the surplus for marketing will be of 150 thousand MW a year.
In the Quirinópolis SJC Bioenergia holds another unit, the San Francisco Plant. The joint venture aims to process 15 million tons of sugarcane in their units until 2025.
The plantation that provides raw material for units of SJC Bioenergy has 100 thousand hectares, distributed among 500 partners and suppliers of cane.
