Russian investor starts to have 70% of the capital of the supermarket chain Dia

São Paulo – The Spanish Day supermarket network now has 69.76% of its shares in the hand of the Letterone fund, the Russian investor Mijail Fridman. The position was reported yesterday in fact relevant to the Spanish Securities Commission with the final result of the public offer of shares (OPA). As a matter of fact, Letterone's offer was accepted by the holders of 57.41% of the shares of the international distributor of Alimentación S. A, which is equivalent to a total of 40.76% of the company's capital – which was added to the shares already with Fridman. According to the document, Letterone secured a capital increase of 500 million euros to obtain a viable long-term capital structure for the day, "but this capital increase can only be realized after reaching an agreement with all the company's creditors." According to the Spanish newspaper El País, the Letterone, which already owned 29% of the shares of the day network, will now have a challenge to put the group's accounts in place and settle the points with creditors, especially the Santander, principal of them and that has not yet given approval for the increase Capital to occur. The terms of the agreement are the postponement of salaries for 2023.
