São Paulo – the visitor flow in shopping malls of Brazil fell 2,29% in May compared with the same period of 2017, reported on Tuesday the Brazilian Association of Shopping centres (Abrasce).
"In the last four months we had high average flow of 3%. The fall in the month of May is a reflection of the standstill of the independent truckers that impacted the flow of visitors in enterprises, "said Glauco Humai, President of the Brazilian Association of Shopping centres (Abrasce), in a statement.
In comparison with April, however, there was high of 1,12% in the stream of visitors in may, according to the index of visits to Shopping malls (ANTONYSAMWEL), developed in partnership with FX Retail Analytics, encouraged by mother's day.
Regionally, the Southeast had the worst performance in may, with 3,92% drop year-over-year, followed by the South, with 2,1% indentation, and Northeast, with a low of 1,25%.
