Retail Advances 1.5% in September, Points Cielo

Brazilian retail revenues grew by 1.5% in September, compared with the same month last year, despite inflation. The data are from the Index Expanded retail Cielo (ICVA) released last Tuesday (16) by Cielo. In nominal terms, the high was 4.9% compared to September 2017. In comparison with August, when the index surged to 4.7%, the result means worse. According to the company, in September there was a slowdown led by durable goods and semi-durable goods, mainly in the sectors of supermarkets and pharmacies.
