IBGE: industrial production rises in five regions of the 14 surveyed

On national average, industry advanced 0.6% in April compared with March. It was the best result for the month compared with March from 2013, when the indicator grew by 0.9%.
The highlight was with Santa Catarina, which had 1.2% advance. The Northeast region (0.6%), Pernambuco (0.6%), Ceará (0.6%) and Minas Gerais (0.5%) are the other sites had increased production this month.
Against the grain, industrial production fell in Amazonas (-1.9%), Rio de Janeiro (-1.9%), Paraná (-1.6%) and Goiás (-1.3%). The other negative rates were marked by Rio Grande do Sul (-0.8%), Pará (-0.8%), Bahia (-0.7%), in addition to São Paulo (-0.1%).
