Fairs prove expansion of organic and natural products industry

The demand for food and other natural products, healthy and sustainable grows every year. Consumer preference for that category was once again proven concurrent fairs BIO BRAZIL FAIR | BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA and NATURALTECH, who have had your 13th edition ended last Saturday, June 10, at the Pavilion of the biennial''s Ibirapuera, in São Paulo.
Together, the events received 25,664 visitors (33% more than the previous edition, in 2016), among retailers, corporate buyers, health and nutrition professionals, athletes, educators and the general public, who came to the event in search of news of a booming segment. They all had the opportunity to meet, enjoy and buy the news directly from producers and manufacturers.
With increasing demand, companies invest in offering more options to market. BIO BRAZIL FAIR | BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA and NATURALTECH met 404 exhibitors who presented around 1,200 releases and highlights in certified organic products (food, cosmetics, clothes and accessories), and natural health-promoting (functional foods, probiotics and wholegrain, vegetarian and vegan products, dietary supplements, natural cosmetics, herbal remedies and complementary therapies).

To increase even more the business, BIO BRAZIL FAIR | BIOFACH Latin AMERICA and promoted NATURALTECH two days of business rounds between 135 exhibiting companies and 15 buyers from five States and the Federal District, invited by the organization.
The business achieved estimate with the 416 meetings designed R $23,400,000 sales for the participating companies for the next 12 months, almost 10 times greater than the R $2,470,000 achieved in the rounds of the last edition.
The meetings, scheduled and performed in an environment reserved outside the booths, they put the exhibitors participating in direct and personal contact with great prospects, like Walmart Brazil, Grupo Pão de Açúcar and green world, among others.

BIO BRAZIL FAIR | BIOFACH Latin AMERICA and NATURALTECH have opened space for a wide technical programming with more than 100 hours of forums, seminars, conferences, lectures, workshops and other activities that contributed to the training of professionals in the sector and increased the visibility of natural products between producers, processors, distributors, retailers, public officials, educators and consumers.
Among the many activities, the international forum of Organic and Sustainable Production revealed the first survey conducted in Brazil about the profile of the consumer of organic products, coordinated by the Brazilian Council of Organic and Sustainable Production (BODY).
905 people were interviewed in nine capitals: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Recife, Porto Alegre and Goiânia. According to the BODY, the research concluded, among other things, that 15% of the urban population are consumers of organic products, in particular the southern region, where consumption is twice the national average. Vegetables, vegetables and fruits are the most consumed foods, but there are available to introduce other organic consumer products.
