Craft breweries market promises to double in size in 5 years

São Paulo-award winning world, brazilian beer is gaining more and more consumers. With this market in boiling, franchises and brands of craft breweries are appearing and showing gains.
Created in 2004 with the aim of providing information about the specifics of the beers, the Master portal-Cervejeiro.com grew up and decided to open your first fixed point of sale in 2009. The bet was effective, and since 2012 the company follows an aggressive expansion plan for the franchise model. Currently, the brand holds 60 operations spread over more than 40 cities in the country.
"Today, Brazil is the third [greater] beer market in the world. The craft segment in Brazil represents 1.5%. [But] it is estimated to reach 3% in five years. The same thing goes for the breweries. The growth is too brisk. Today, we have 400 shops of breweries in the country, and the expectation is that in five years this number will double, reaching 800 units, "says the Director of the Master-Cervejeiro.com, Daniel Wolff.
In order to finish with 100 2017 operations in Brazil, the network already offers significant gains. Last year, the Master-Cervejeiro.com achieved a turnover of R $18,000,000, up 206% compared to 2015. The projection for this year is to follow the pace and raise the revenues to R $41,000,000, achieving a new breakthrough of 127%.
To promote a unique experience to the customer, the breweries bet options unique to differentiate itself in a competitive market. "Today, we have three beers and our intention is to launch a new label every three months," says Wolff.
New concept
Gold Medal in world competition between breweries in 2014, the World Beer Cup, the Wäls recently launched a barrel room to attract aficionados of the brand. The Wäls Workshop, opened earlier this month in Belo Horizonte, works as a concept store that, in addition to the typical drinks brand, offers exclusive products like key chains, caps and t-shirts.
"The idea for now is to present Belo Horizonte for being our root town. We have no plans in the short term. We want to enjoy the Studio, which has been a great success since the first day, "explains the founder of the Brewery Wäls, José Felipe Castro.
After stand out in this market, the Wäls was acquired by Ambev in 2015. The negotiations, already significantly impacted even the gains of the brewery. In 2016, the Wäls presented a 70% higher revenue over the previous year. Today, beside the breweries Bohemia and Colorado, the acquisition of Wäls is an attempt of Ambev to increase the share of special beers Division within the Group billing.
Entrants
From the next day on June 24, Sao Paulo will receive a new pub specializes in craft beers: the Soul Bar. Founded by sommelier Humberto Ribeiro, an investment estimated at R $500,000, the House is born with the purpose of offering quality combined with a fair price. By the end of next year, the idea is to reach five units-all located in Sao Paulo.
"The Soul is a store that wants fair price. Is a Brazilian Pub. A place of shelter, and fraternization. I hope we can succeed with this first operation and, from it, we plan to design a range of growth, "says the founder of Soul Saloon, Humberto Ribeiro.
In order to promote a different experience to the consumer, the Soul Bar already signed some partnerships with food trucks in the region. In addition, the establishment will feature 10 pints of taps distinct labels, and a menu with options in line with other bars.
