Intention of household consumption rises 1.6%

The intention of household consumption (ICF) advanced 1.6% in February compared with January, already discounted seasonal effects, said the National Confederation of trade in goods, services and tourism (CNC).
The result was influenced by the improvement in expectations for the next months, "a typical movement of beginning of year", according to the institution. In comparison with February 2014, however, the ICF recorded fall of 33.2%. "Adding 78.7 points, on a scale of 0 to 200, the index is very low level historically and reflects the perception of 18 1000 respondents '' dissatisfaction with the current conditions," said the CNC. In January, the ICF had increased 1.3%, but retreated 35.3% in comparison with January 2015.
"Consumer confidence has stopped falling in January and rehearse some improvement. With still very unfavourable assessments about the present situation of the economy and pessimistic expectations about the coming months, it is still premature to talk in consistent trend reversal, given the weak recent results of retailing, "says Juliana Serapio, Economic Advisor of the CNC.
Durable goods
In the clash, most of the indicators recorded progress, with emphasis on the intention of buying durable goods, with an increase of 4.5% compared with January. CNC''s prediction is that the sales volume fall 3.9 percent in 2016, after 4.3% decline last year.
