VW Group sales in June rise 3.9% as Americas have fall

Berlin (Reuters)-the German automaker Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE: quotes) said on Friday that sales of its multibrand Group increased 3.9 percent in June, the second smallest monthly growth this year, since the drop in sales in the Americas counteracted gains in Europe and Asia.
Sales rose to 859,400 cars, sports utility vehicles and light vans last month, and the six-month sales rose 5.9 percent to 4.97 million units, according to VW.
"The economic environment in some markets in the world remains tense," said the head of VW's sales, Christian Klingler.
