Swedish company wants to invest personal hygiene products in Brazil

2/17/2014-the Swedish pulp and paper production company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) is prepared to invest in South America, considering the region's potential for the development of the company's portfolio. That certain opportunities malfunctioned, according to President and CEO of SCA, Jan Johansson.
"South America and especially Brazil are in growth markets, with demographics favorable to SCA portfolio. The Brazil is an interesting market, with a large female population, and 80% of consumers of SCA are women. Today, in Brazil, only we are present with the global brand Tena, but we would like to add some of our other categories too, "said Johansson to RISI.
As stated by the CEO, the particularities of the Latin America also would make an interesting region for the development of personal care. "It is often positive for a supplier offering various categories of consumption," Johansson said.
SCA currently operates five factories of tissue paper in Latin America: a factory of 61 thousand tons per year in Chile, a place of production of 25 thousand tons per year in Ecuador, a plant of 34,900 tons per year in Mexico and Colombia tons in 74,790.
